KANNAPOLIS - William Lloyd "Sonny" Ludwick, 81, of Kannapolis, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
He was born Oct. 19, 1932, in Rowan County, the son of the late William Lawson Ludwick and Annie Lloyd Martin Ludwick.
Sonny was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had formerly worked at Fieldcrest-Cannon Inc., Bill Dove Motors and Savings Supply. He was a faithful member of Unity United Methodist Church, where he was very active serving on various church committees and a former Sunday School teacher. Sonny loved to sing and had lead the choir at church for a while. He loved worshiping the Lord. Sonny also enjoyed flying model airplanes throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Daniels Ludwick; three children, Dale Ludwick (Shirley) of Salisbury, Scott Ludwick (Diane) of Kannapolis and Allison Smith (Joe) of Salisbury; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity United Methodist Church, Mobile Meals, Kannapolis, NC.
