Thursday, May 17, 2012 — Mary Aileen Kirk Carrick, 85, passed away peacefully on Mothers’ Day, May 13, 2012 in her home surrounded by family.

Services will be at Badin Baptist Church, 28 Falls Road, Badin, N.C. at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012.  Family and friends will gather for fellowship immediately following the service to celebrate her life.

Aileen was born July 20, 1926. Her husband of nearly 63 years, Donald Bain Carrick, passed away November 10, 2010.

Her family includes sons, Donald R. Carrick and wife Karen of Raleigh and David B. Carrick and wife Debbie of Badin; nieces: Donna Kirk Ellison-Jones and husband Wade of Badin and Debbie Kirk Jebaily and husband George of Florence, S.C. Grandchildren are Bryan Carrick and wife Nikki of Locust, Amanda Carrick and fiancé Jaman Smith of Badin and Jonathan Carrick of Badin. Great-grandchildren are Rylee, Chelby, Summer and Madison Carrick. Great-nephews and niece are John Ellison and wife Laura of Badin, Kayla Jebaily and Kirk Jebaily of Florence, S.C. and Sam Jones of Badin. Very dear to her heart and loved like sisters are cousin Evelyn Furr Holbrook of Charlotte and sister-in-law Carolyn Kirk Yarboro of Florence, SC.

Educated at Badin High School and Pfeiffer College in Business, she was a homemaker and medical office assistant for Drs. Ritchie Wall and W. H. Freeman. When in good health, she was a very active member of Badin Baptist Church and the church continued to support her at home.

Following the passing of her husband, caregivers joined the family to allow her to remain in the home she loved so dearly, the same property on which she had lived over 80 years. Shelia Morton, Christine Borga, Joyce Swanner, Carol Belsinger, Geri Nestor and Susan Palmer kept her safe and comfortable. Community Home Care and Hospice of Asheboro assisted with her care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Badin Baptist Church, Badin, NC.
