William Lindo "Red" Lambert

CONCORD - Mr. William Lindo "Red" Lambert, 67, of 163 McKinnon Avenue NE, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast after two years of declining health and one month of serious illness. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eastside Baptist Church, Concord, with Pastor Forest Jones officiating. Interment will be at Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Locust. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Mr. Lambert was born Oct. 20, 1940 in Concord, the son of the late Eafron Vance Lambert and the late Lillie Talbert Lambert. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Floyd "Pete" Lambert.

Red was a parts man at Hilbish Ford for approximately 20 years He worked a few years for Corriher Gravel and Grading Before going to work for Dennis Carpenter Ford Reproductions. He retired after 20-plus years of service. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by wife of 47 years Carol "Susie" Nash Lambert; sons William Kevin Lambert and wife Cari, and children Nicole, Kattie, Jesse and Amber, of Concord; daughter Tammy Lambert Mullis and husband Jonathan, and children Anna, Alec, Ethan, Lissey and Issac, of Concord.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
