CONCORD Martha Hatley Joyner Fisher, 96, passed away at The Mt. Pleasant House (Carebridge), Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013. A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, at Oakwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Tom Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service, at the cemetery.
Martha was born in Cabarrus County, May 13, 1917. She was one of seven children born to Mack Daniel and Laura McClure Hatley. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Concord. Back in her active years, Martha loved to grow beautiful flowers in perfectly manicured flower beds. She enjoyed being a resident of The Mt. Pleasant House and was affectionately know to the staff and fellow residents as "Grandma." The family would like to say "thank you" to entire staff there for their love and care.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by her son, Larry Joyner and wife, Patsy, of Charlotte; granddaughter, Taffy Decker and husband, Chip, of Charlotte; and stepgrandsons, Kenny and Dwayne Fisher.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Concord, NC.
