CHARLOTTE - Irvin Morgan, 92, born to the late Arthur Lee Morgan and Carrie Mae Cauble, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at Salisbury's V.A. Medical Center.
Irvin served in the United States Navy on the USS Acree during World War II as a Boatswain's Mate. He was also a member of the Post 400 VFW as well as the Blind Veteran's Association. Irvin worked for 40 years for Queen City Lumber and was a master craftsman. He also was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Charlotte. He was a loving and proud father and grandfather and will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Irvin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Gladys Furr Morgan and one son, Gary Morgan.
He is survived by three sons, Buddy F. Morgan and wife Linda, Jerry L. Morgan and Joseph D (Doug) Morgan and wife Marie; 13 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Jean Morgan and Ruth Albright.
Service &Visitation:The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. A funeral service will be held at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at 1 p.m.
