Ruth 'Inez' Ridenhour

ROCKWELL - Mrs. Ruth "Inez" Taylor Ridenhour, 87, of Rockwell, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at her residence.

She was born March 5, 1926, to the late Annie Carter and Ernest M. Taylor. Mrs. Ridenhour was a 1943 graduate of Rockwell High School and was a homemaker.

A member of Ursinus United Church of Christ, she attended Gold Hill Wesleyan Church and was also a member of the Rockwell Young at Hearts.

She enjoyed painting, sewing and her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kenneth Ridenhour Sr.; son Joe "Buster" Ridenhour Jr.; daughter Barbara Ridenhour Wardrep; and sisters Helen Taylor Earnhardt and Alma Lee Taylor.

Mrs. Ridenhour is survived by her daughters, Pat Holshouser and husband Jerry of Salisbury and Susan Herrington and husband Glenn of Rockwell; brothers William E. Taylor of Kannapolis and John M. Taylor of Rockwell; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.

Service: The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Harold Bumby. Burial will follow at Ursinus United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gold Hill Wesleyan Church, Building Fund; or Ursinus United Church of Christ, Rockwell, NC.
