Kathryn Parker Tobin

Mrs. Kathryn Parker Tobin, 90, died Sunday April 29, 2018 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. She was born April 16, 1928 in Davidson County a daughter of William Narvie Parker and Maggie Alunda Sullivan Parker. She was a faithful member of Rich Fork Baptist Church and had retired from Prudential Insurance Company. She was a natural born caregiver for family, friends, and neighbors.

On January 30, 1945 she was married to Avis Edward Tobin who died June 18, 2012.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Parker and by brothers, Raymond Parker, Ralph Parker, and Narvie Parker, Jr.

Surviving are a daughter & her husband Janice & Mike Byers; three sons & their wives, Ed & Judy Tobin, Marty & Debe Tobin, and Travis & Tammy Tobin; a brother, Carson (Cork) Parker. Kathryn also enjoyed the love and fun of 15 grandchildren/spouses and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11 AM at Rich Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

Family & Friends visitation will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8:30 PM. At other times the family will be at the home place. Mrs. Tobin will remain at the funeral home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rich Fork Baptist Church Missions Fund, or to Hospice of Davidson County.
