Donna S. Robertson

CHARLOTTE - Donna Shulenberger Robertson, 70, of Charlotte, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006.

Born Feb. 10, 1936, in Landis, Mrs. Robertson was a daughter of the late John Miller and Minnie Mae Morgan Shulenberger. She was a graduate of Landis High School, Presbyterian Hospital School of Medicine in 1957 and Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1960. She earned her MBA in Education through the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Ms. Robertson was a nurse and nursing professor for over 40 years.

Having been a very active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Charlotte for over 40 years, as well as a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church during her 12 years as a resident of Augusta, Ga., she has been a member of Christ Lutheran Church since her return to Charlotte. Ms. Robertson enjoyed participating in the Women's Bible Study Class at Christ Church.

An excellent seamstress, she was known for having made Easter dresses and bridal gowns for her daughters. She still quilted once a week at Christ Lutheran Church.

Ms. Robertson was a "loving, loving, loving" mother, as well as an extremely loving grandmother.

Survivors include son Eric Neal Robertson of China Grove; daughters Carol Robertson Nimmons and husband Ken of Augusta and Julie Robertson Balderston and husband Ryan and Mary Robertson Frye and husband Greg, both of Charlotte; sister Helen Shulenberger Doyle and brother Duard Shulenberger, both of China Grove; and grandchildren Bo, Elizabeth and Emily Nimmons, Cavin and Sofia Balderston and Thompson and Graham Frye.

Service: Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Charlotte, with the Rev. Dr. Scott Suskovic officiating.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Building Fund, Charlotte, NC.

Arrangements are in the care of Hankins & Whittington's Dilworth Chapel.
