Monday, May 6, 2013 — Ruth Vanhoy Miller, 83, of Richfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. The family received friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Friday, May 3, 2013, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Joe Helms, was at Mt. Creek Primitive Baptist Church on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 4 p.m. with a 30 minute state prior to the service. Burial followed at the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at her home. Mrs. Miller was born on August 16, 1929, to the late Lock Vance Vanhoy and Mary Louise Helms Vanhoy. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Claude Miller; son, Tony Miller of Monroe; daughter, Barbara Wilson and husband Rick of Mt. Airy; two grandchildren, Krystle Miller-Moucka and Matthew Miller; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be made to Hartsell Funeral Home, c/o Martha Ruth Miller account. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Miller family.
