SALISBURY - Evelyn Stoner Brown, 87, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Magnolia Gardens.

Mrs. Brown was born in Rowan County on Sept. 23, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles William Stoner and Ella Elium Stoner. A graduate of Boyden High School, she was a member of Christiana Lutheran Church and a homemaker.

Mrs. Brown loved her flower garden, traveling with her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Brown; siblings R.C. Stoner, Jeanette Stoner, Eunice Lee and William "Bill" Stoner; grandchildren Bryan Lafon Brown, Megan Annette Brown; great-grandchildren Matthew Gabriel Brown and Krysta Rose Brown; and granddaughter-in-law Kimberly Annette Brown.

Survivors include sons Alan Brown and wife Margaret of Winston-Salem, Terry Dean Brown and wife Helen of Salisbury, Larry Brown and wife Cathy of Salisbury; grandchildren Darin Brown and fiancee Lesley Robbins, Julie Brown Pratel and husband Dennis, Michael Brown, Daryl Brown and Brandy Brown Rye and husband Andy; great-grandchildren Rebecca Katherine Pratel, Lucy Davis Pratel, Samantha Annette Brown, Callie Allysen Brown, Steven Lafon Brown, Landon Andrew Rye, Brayden Liam Rye and Ethan West.

Visitation: The family will be at Powles Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to receive friends.

Services: Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Powles Funeral Home Chapel in Rockwell by Rev. Carl Haynes, pastor of Christiana Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Brookhill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorials: May be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Brown family.
