Hazel P. Trexler

SALISBURY - Mrs. Hazel Maxine Pinion Trexler, 92, of Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Hazel was born June 24, 1921, in Norwood, the daughter of the late James Claude Pinion and Lura Edna Jordan Pinion. Hazel was educated in Norwood schools and was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, president of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and a lifelong member of the Women of ELCA.

Hazel taught Bible School, loved to do sewing, quilting, crocheting, fishing and being with her family. She was noted for her lemon meringue pies, cooking and canning.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, James Haywood Trexler, who died July 19, 2003; and brothers J.C. Pinion, Jr. and Franklin Pete Pinion.

Survivors include son James W. Trexler and wife Mary of Salisbury; daughter Patsy Kluttz and husband Don of Salisbury; brother Fred Wayne Pinion of Concord; grandchildren Kelly Kluttz, Crystal Morgan and husband Mike, Jennifer McDaniel and husband Brian; great-grandchildren Cameron Morgan, Kaitlyn McDaniel and Justin McDaniel.

Visitation: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 30 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Funeral Service: 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Darrell Norris, interim pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
