Violet Brown

SALISBURY - Violet Rodgers Brown, 90, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at Liberty Commons Nursing Facility.

Born Dec. 31, 1922, in Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Louis Cameron and Alma Rodgers. A homemaker and seamstress, she retired from Rockwell Casket Co.

She was a devoted member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where she was active in all phases of the church, including Lutheran Church Women.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Brown; and daughter Judith Elaine Brown.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Roger and Judy Brown of Salisbury; daughter and son-in-law Vickie and Skip Harris of Salisbury; sisters Dot Burris of Goldsboro, Joyce Menius of Salisbury; grandchildren Shannon M. Brown, Cassi Barringer and husband Daniel, Nick Harris; great-grandchildren Christian Barringer, Preston Barringer, Noah Barringer.

A special thanks to the staff at Liberty Commons Nursing Facility for the wonderful care they provided.

Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Monday, April 29 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Service: 2 p.m. Monday, April 29 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The service will be conducted by Rev. Darrell Norris.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
