Philip Maxwell Brown, 84, of Granite Quarry passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Philip was born on April 13, 1929 in Granite Quarry, son of the late Robert Maxwell and Grace Miller Brown.
Philip was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School, and a former Co-Owner of Brown Supply Company. He was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and was the oldest member. Philip loved going to the beach and fishing. He was a former member of the Granite Quarry Jaycees and the Granite Quarry Civitan Club. Philip loved his dogs – Buddy Brown and Rose.
In addition to his parents Philip was preceded in death by his wife of over 31 years, Essie Holshouser Brown.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Shiloh United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Angela Burris, Pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Brown will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday after the service in the fellowship building.
Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, Granite Quarry, or to the Donor's Choice.
