Thursday, March 8, 2007 — Shirley Jean Hathcock Lorch, 69, of 43733 Rummage Road, Albemarle, died at 7:45 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2007, in Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Harry Harwood will officiate and burial will be in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday.
Born Sept. 26, 1937 in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Ivory Virgess and Mary Eudy Hathcock and was a retired seamstress, homemaker and avid grower of daylilies.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Lorch Jr. of the home; a son, Danny Vaughn and wife Catherine Lorch of Vale; a brother, Joel and wife Katrina Hathcock of Albemarle; a sister, Carolyn Elaine Cortwright of Ridgeville, S.C.; two grandchildren, Elaine Lorch Tunner of Albemarle and Andrew Lorch of Vale; and a great-grandchild, John Robert Sharp.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
