Sunday, April 7, 2013 — Joyce Marie Harvell Tucker, age 75, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Mrs. Tucker was born August 31, 1937, in Albemarle, to the late William Shakespeare Harvell and the late Leah Catherine Harvell. She was also preceded in death by husband, Willie James Tucker; sisters, Christine H. Morris, Laura H. Burris, Auta H. Tucker and Isabelle Thomas; brothers, Wesley, George, Jim and Hugh Harvell; half sisters, Roseanna H. Drye and Mandy H. Tucker; and half brothers, Math Harvell and Rhette H. Smith.
The funeral service was at Mission Baptist Church in Locust on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at 4 p.m. The service was officiated by Rev. Jeremy Hyde and Rev. Chip Alsobrook. A 30 minute state was held prior to the service. Burial followed at Running Creek PBC.
The family extends an open invitation to visit the family at the home of her daughter, Deborah Tucker, at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday immediately following the burial at Running Creek PBC. At other times, friends and family may come by the funeral home anytime Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning to pay their respects.
Survivors include daughter, Deborah M. Tucker of Locust; son, John C. Tucker and wife Ann of Oakboro; grandsons, Tucker Morton, and Allen Tucker; granddaughter, Lisa Huneycutt; great-grandchildren, Lacie T., Bruce T. and Katy Huneycutt, Sarah Estep and Jessie Efird.
Memorials may be made in honor of her stay to Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
