Agnes Jeter Park

Agnes Jeter Park, 92, of Bassett, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Stanleytown Health Care in Bassett.

She was born in Hardy on Sept. 21, 1912, to Grover C. Jeter and Elsie S. Turner Jeter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn S. Park in 1955; a sister, Flonnie J. McGuire Bowling; and two brothers, Clifford S. Jeter and William T. Jeter.

She graduated from William Byrd High School in Vinton and National Business College in Roanoke.

She was a member of Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church and the Bassett Garden Club. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross.

Surviving are two daughters, Judith P. Goins of Roanoke and Carol P. Prillaman of Hilton Head, S.C.; two sisters Nannie J. Wade and Alda J. Paul, both of Vinton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alan Follett officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the church for an hour before the funeral Thursday.
