Gladys F. Wagoner

MISENHEIMER - Mrs. Gladys Fraley Wagoner, 76, of Misenheimer died on Wednesday, November 22 at her home. Mrs. Wagoner was born on June 23, 1930 in Stanly County. She was the daughter of the late John Noah Fraley and Lee House Fraley.

She graduated from Richfield High School in 1948. She was the bookstore manager for Pfeiffer University from 1960 until 1983, she was also the bookstore manager for Rowan Cabarrus Community College from 1983 until she retired in 1990. She was an active member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and was a past president of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Association of Book Store Managers. She loved crafts, gardening, and was very interested in antiques.

Mrs. Wagoner was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Jean Arey and a brother Glenn Walter Fraley.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Wagoner whom she married in 1948, son Randy Wagoner and wife Sally of Jamestown, son Gary Wagoner and wife Starr of Badin, and son Darryl Wagoner and wife Marielena of Gold Hill, and a sister Evelyn Strobel of Alexanderia, Virginia, She has five grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Wagoner will be held on Saturday, November 25 at 2:00 pm at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Rev. Michael Newton, pastor, officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday November 24 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell.

Memorials may be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Misenheimer, NC; and to Rowan Regional Home Health and Hospice.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Rowan Regional Home Health and Hospice and to the care givers during Mrs. Wagoner's illness.
