RICHFIELD - Charles "Charlie" Grant Burrage, 71, of Richfield, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Charlie was born on March 10, 1941, in Rowan County, a son of the late Leo Grant and Jessie Marie Hoffner Burrage.

A 1960 graduate of East Rowan High School, Charlie retired from Food Lion as a truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith and loved watching "Westerns," collecting cars and mowing his yard.

Charlie is survived by his sons, "Teddy" Grant Burrage of Richfield, Daniel "Shane" Burrage of Salisbury; stepson Ricky Smith of Tyro; brother Howard Lee Burrage of Granite Quarry; sisters Sue Burrage House and husband John David and Mary Burrage Isenhour, all of Richfield; and grandchildren Matthew Shane Burrage and Brandon Luke Burrage.

Service: There will be a graveside service Saturday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. at Flat Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Elder Wayne Gravely.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flat Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, c/o Clyde Arey, 1220 St. Matthews Church Road, Salisbury, NC.
