Jimmy Carroll Almond
Jimmy Carroll Almond, 76, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022. His funeral service will be at 3pm on Sunday, September 4, 2022 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Talbert and Rev. Steve Combs officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC, with immediate family. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle from 1:30pm until 2:45pm prior to the service.
Mr. Almond was born August 14, 1946 in Stanly County, NC to the late Adam Pearson and Carrie Barbee Almond. He was the brother of the late Sid Almond, Wayne Almond, Bob Almond, Betty Drye and Jean Drye. He was also preceded in death by his son in law, Jeff Roland and granddaughter, Kristen Roland.
Jimmy was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving our county during the late 1960’s, spending most of that service time in Germany. He was also known for his HVAC work, spending years working at Lorch’s, Allisons and Department of Corrections. He loved his family, NASCAR racing, watching western films, any kind of military history and serving our country.
He is survived by a son, Jamie Almond (Rita) of Asheboro, NC; daughter, Kristy Roland of Albemarle, NC; granddaughters, Kaylan and Karmin Roland; grandson, Aidan and Colt Almond and a sister, Brenda Carpenter.
