Luciene Herrin Whitley

Luciene Herrin Whitley, 83 years of age, of Locust, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.

Mrs. Whitley was born July 24, 1932 in Stanly County to the late Dewey Alexander Herrin and Geraldine Moody Herrin. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 3:00 PM at West Albemarle Baptist Church, 336 Church Street in  Albemarle officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley and Rev. Donnie Burleyson. Burial will follow at Smith's Grove Church Cemetery, Hwy 138, in Oakboro.

Survivors include husband of 67 years, Tommy Whitley of the home; sons, Terrell Whitley and wife Debbi of Albemarle and Gary Whitley and wife Judy of Rock Hill, SC; daughter, Karen Whitley Allen and husband Mark of New London; grandsons, Robert Chad Whitley of Oakboro, Brent Daniel Whitley of Knoxville, TN, Gregory Whitley of Irmo, SC and Seth Adrian Allen of New London; and granddaughters, Lindsey Mann of Port St. Lucie, FL and Deanna Sanders of Augusta, GA.
