Larry Eugene Thomas, 80, of Salisbury passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at Autumn Care in Salisbury.
Larry was born August 23, 1942 in Rowan County, NC to the late Manuel Lee “Red” Thomas and Doris Shutt Thomas. He was educated in the Rowan County Schools and received his GED from Rowan Cabarrus Community College.
Larry retired from Bendix and also worked for Atlantic Petroleum and Wilhelm Heating Oil for many years. He was an avid tinkerer and bluegrass enthusiast. Larry was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Linda Park Thomas, whom he married on October 4, 1960; and brothers Jimmy D. Thomas and Ricky L. Thomas.
Larry is survived by his sister Renee Barker; his children, Sandy Chris (Susan) Thomas, Chipper Eugene Thomas and Ginger Rebecca (Jack) Thomas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shawn (Kelli) Thomas, Scott (Courtney) Thomas, Spencer (Amanda) Thomas, Saharrah Thomas, Saybrin Thomas, Cameron Thomas, Clarissa Pekala, Allison Propst, and Matthew Propst; great-grandchildren, Finnley Thomas, Tucker Thomas, and Bentley Propst along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, 205 S. Main St, Faith, NC. Service will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Rob Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Faith Lutheran Church-Family Life Center.
