Monday, December 24, 2012 — Dorothy Elizabeth “Betty” Littleton Palmer, 84, passed away, Thursday, December 20, 2012 at CMC-Main in Charlotte.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. At other times the family will meet at her home.
The funeral service will be in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 am. Rev. Sid Martin will officiate and the burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle.
Born, April 23, 1928 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Donald Suttle Littleton and the late Dorothy McIntosh Greenlee Littleton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William Clayton Palmer in 2001 and 1 brother.
She is survived by her son, William “Bill” Palmer and wife Melinda of Bluffton, SC; daughter, Mary Palmer Mabe and husband Kenny of Eden, NC; grandchildren, Beth and William Palmer and Ken and Brian Mabe and 4 great grandchildren.
She was an assistant for Dr. A.F. Lapsley in Badin for 25 years. She was a lifetime member of Badin Baptist Church and a member of the Yadkin River Patriots Chapter of DAR.
Memorials may be made to Badin Baptist Church, PO Box 337, Badin, NC 28009.
