SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Claude Odell Earnhardt, 75, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 21, 1936, in Gold Hill, he was the son of the late Samuel Clark and Edna Louise Wagner Earnhardt and husband of the late Ann File Earnhardt.

He was owner of Earnhardt Lumber and Trucking Company, co-organizer for Greater Spartanburg Ministries, member of Who's Who in Business and the Sunrise Civitan Club, and a volunteer for bingo at Mountain View Nursing Home for over 30 years. Claude was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Men, president of the Fellowship Class for many years, president and longtime member of the Church Council, served on the Board of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, and the Bible study group at The Beacon.

He was predeceased by a brother, Hayden Earnhardt.

Survivors include sons, Dell Earnhardt (Linda) and Sammy Earnhardt (Kim), all of Duncan, S.C.; daughters, Luann E. Bryant and Sabrina E. Coley (Scott), all of Spartanburg, S.C.; grandchildren, Ashley E. Burnett (Richard), Audrey Earnhardt, Christian Earnhardt, Clark Earnhardt, Andrew Earnhardt, Luke Earnhardt, Carson Earnhardt, Sam Earnhardt, Beau Bryant, Lee Bryant, and Caleb Coley; great-grandson, R. J. Burnette; brothers, Harold Earnhardt of Rockwell, and Bill Earnhardt of Gold Hill; and his "girlfriend" Betty Koon.

Visitation and Services: Visitation will be 1:30-3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church Parish Life Center. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the church, conducted by the Rev. Michael T. Shackelford. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Parish Life Center Building Fund, Spartanburg, SC.
