SALISBURY - Hazel "Arlene" Combs Stoner, 74, of Salisbury, passed away Monday May 19, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Stoner was born Sept. 3, 1933, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Henry Lester Combs and Lillie Mae Combs. She attended Granite Quarry High School and worked at Cartex Mills. Mrs. Stoner was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Claude D. Stoner, and sister Margaret E. Combs.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey C. Stoner of the home; brother Frank C. Combs of Chester, Ill.; sisters Mildred C. Moore of Rockwell and Doris C. Hill and husband Gene of Salisbury; and many nieces and nephews.
Service: The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Dr. Michael Taylor, pastor, Phaniels Baptist Church of Rockwell. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday and will be at the home of sister Mildred Moore the remainder of the time.
Memorials: Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice.
