SALISBURY - Glenna Hurlocker Lingle, 87, of Salisbury passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
She was born May 8, 1925, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late John Crooks and Eltha Hahn Hurlocker. Glenna was educated in the Cabarrus County School System.
She was a member of Christiana Lutheran Church, where she was a volunteer for the church office, a member of the Missionary Society, the Lutheran Church Women and the Jennie Thomas Bible Class. Glenna also taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Weekday Church School in past years.
In addition to her parents, Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, Hayden Lingle, in 1988.
Glenna is survived by her daughters, Sue L. Wall and husband Glenn and Glenda L. Ball and husband Steve of Salisbury; sisters Lena Hill of Mt. Pleasant and Gertie Lowder of Finger; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Service: The funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. at Christiana Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Carl Haynes, pastor, assisted by Dr. Junior Gaither and Pastor Brian Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends in the Christiana Lutheran Church Vestibule on Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
The family requests no flowers.
Memorials: May be made to Christiana Lutheran Church, Roof Fund or Pastor's Discretionary Fund.
The family wishes to thank the many healthcare professionals at Genesis Healthcare and the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks for their loving care during Glenna's years of declining health.
