Ethel Kluttz Doby

Ethel Louise Kluttz Doby, 96, of Albemarle, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at First Lutheran Church, on Sunday, November 4, 2012, from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm with the funeral service following at 4:00 pm. Pastor John Futterer will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.

She was born on December 18, 1915, in Albemarle, to the late Herbert and Pratt Kluttz. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Cannon Doby in 1964; four brothers, Arnelle Kluttz, Clifford Kluttz, Hardin Kluttz and Leo Kluttz; three sisters, Helen Harkey, Hazel Smith, Arlene Cox; and a special friend, Bill Thompson.

Mrs. Doby is survived by two daughters, Linda Doby Hall and husband Jerry of Albemarle, and Laura Doby Chapman of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Mandy Scardina and husband John of Albemarle, Jason Hall and wife Shelly of Stanfield, and Jennifer Ramsey and husband Tyler of Kannapolis; great – grandchildren, Christian Payne, Victoria Payne, Jillian Scardina, Jada Hall, Jax Hall, Ella Ramsey and Ava Ramsey.

She retired from Wiscasset Mills and Jay’s Seafood where she worked until she was 81.
