Mr. Fred Norman Sides of Albemarle, NC 28001 passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at his home. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Thursday, September 20th, 2012 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Graveside service at will follow visitation at 3:00 pm on at Salem United Methodist Church. Rev. Joe Smith will officiate.
Mr. Sides was born February 14, 1928 in Stanly County, NC. He was the son of the late John Q. Sides Sr. and Ollie Hatley Sides and was educated at Albemarle High School. He was the owner and operator of the Music Mart in Albemarle and Kannapolis.
Mr. Sides was a member of the Tabernacle United Methodist Church and was a Veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He loved the music business and he enjoyed gardening.
He was married to Frances Eagle Sides of the home. Other survivors include one son, Fred Michael Sides of Albemarle, and daughter, Janice Sides Poplin and husband Phillip of Albemarle; two grandchildren, Sara Sides Poplin and Brynn Efird Poplin.
Two Brothers preceded him in death; Myron Sides and John Q. Sides, Jr.
