MOORESVILLE Mrs. Shinn, age 84, of 9215 W. 252 Highway, Mooresville, NC, died Friday night, February 20, 2004 at Geneses Elder Care. She was born in Catawba County April 10, 1919, daughter of the late Robert L. and Julia Lambert Benfield. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a weaver at Mooresville Mills. Her husband James Harry Shinn died February 25, 2003.
Survivors include brothers, James Benfield, Statesville, Harry Lee Benfield of Winston Salem, Fred Benfield and Coyt Benfield both of Mooresville; sisters, Julia Johnston of Mooresville, NC and Patty Pope of Cleveland, NC and a number of nephews and nieces also survive.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Pitts in charge. The body will remain at Neill Funeral Hoe and the family will be at the home of Julia Johnson, 1052 Davis Street of Mooresville, NC.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Mooresville, NC.
