Tuesday, October 16, 2007 — Lloyd Leonard Lambert, 87, of 28486 Millingport Road, Albemarle, died at 6:17 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, in Stanly Regional Medical Center.

His funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle. The Rev. Charles Goodman will officiate and burial will be in Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Ridgecrest, with military honors at graveside by Albemarle-Stanly County DAV Chapter 12.

Born Oct. 18, 1919, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Rella Hatley Lambert and Ezekiel Elias Lambert and was a retired security guard for All Star Mills. He attended Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an Atlanta Braves and Carolina fan

His wife, Estelle Parker Lambert, preceded him in death in 2002. A son, Jimmy Lambert; a daughter, Brenda Sue Lambert Lambert; a grandchild, Lanny Lambert; a sister, Annie May Ashe; and two brothers, Buford and Lonnie Lambert, also preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Lloyd Junior Lambert and wife, Olivia, of Albemarle; three daughters, Barbara Lambert and husband, Bobby, of Locust, Carolyn Lambert Burleson and husband, Davie, of Albemarle, and Shelby Lambert Burris and husband, Gary, of New London; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home. At other times they met at the home of Lloyd J. Lambert, 28486 Millingport Road, Albemarle.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County.

Arrangements are by Hartsell Funeral Home.
