Sunday, March 21, 2010 — Joyce Ann Almond Morris, 69, of 32568 Pennington Road, Albemarle, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 22 at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tab Whitley and The Rev. Bryan Burris will officiate. Burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Born Nov. 15, 1940 in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Gurly Lee Almond and Verna Mae Smith Kendall Almond.
A seamstress for Jenson Active Wear, she was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.
She was active with the Lakeview Baptist Church Senior Group and Stanly County Senior Center. She played the piano and sang at Canaan Baptist Church and she loved gardening, flowers, visiting and family and friends. She was a true and faithful servant for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was married to the late Rev. Calvin Lewis Morris, who preceded her in death on March 9, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Morris and wife, Dawn, of Albemarle; two sisters, Linda Page and Doris Efird, both of Locust; and three grandchildren, Kellie Morris, Ryan Morris and Kaci Morris, all of Albemarle.
The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Sunday from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Lakeview Baptist Church, 32496 Pennington Road, Albemarle, NC.
