Daisy Ribelin

Daisy Blalock Ribelin, 94, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in her home.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014, in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle, with her son, the Rev. Kenneth Ribelin and the Rev. John Black officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Albemarle. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 p.m. at Stanly Funeral Home prior to the hour of the service.  

Born September 16, 1920, in Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late William Anderson and Ollie Dry Blalock and was retired from the American and Efird Mill Co.

She was a charter member of Second Street Presbyterian Church, PCA, where she was a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher for more than 30 years. She was also a participant in the Palestine Senior Center Group for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edd Ribelin.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Paul Blalock and Robert Blalock; and by sisters, Decia Smith and Gracie Waisner.

Survivors include daughter, Joyce Ribelin Harwood and husband Roger of Albemarle; son, Kenneth Edd Ribelin and wife Nancy of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; sister, Willie Mary Whitley and husband Garrett of High Point; five grandchildren, Christopher Michael Harwood and wife Jennifer of Albemarle, Justin Scott Harwood of Charlotte, Nathan Edd Ribelin and wife Kerry Beth of Fort Worth, Texas, Timothy Paul Ribelin and wife Lauren of Waco, Texas, and Scott Baggett and wife Kimberly of Birmingham, Alabama; and seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Harwood, Calvin Ribelin, Felicity Ribelin, Jubilee Ribelin, Jackson Ribelin, Chandler Bryars and Lauren Caison.

Memorials may be made to Second Street Presbyterian Church PCA, Albemarle, NC.
