Martha 'Pauline' Beam

RICHFIELD - Mrs. Martha "Pauline" Crook Beam, 85, of Richfield, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Autumn Care of Salisbury.

She was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Rowan county, daughter of the late Rufus Crook and Martha Elizabeth Morgan Crook.

Pauline was a graduate of Rockwell High School, and she married James Norman Beam on his birthday on Oct. 11, 1947. Her greatest joy was caring for her family and being a homemaker. She was also employed and retired from Richfield Manufacturing.

Pauline was a faithful member at Wyatt's Grove Baptist Church and was very active in her church.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Norman Beam, on Aug. 11, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Clinton Crook, Lloyd Crook and Delmar Crook.

She is survived by her son, James Michael Beam of Richfield; daughter Sue Waller and husband Jeff of Salisbury; grandchildren Angela Bradley and husband Philip, Amber Beam and Mark Anthony; and great-grandchildren Jessica, Andrew, Ethan and Abigail Bradley.

Visitation: The visitation is Thursday, Sept. 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Service: The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at Wyatt's Grove Baptist Church, Richfield, conducted by Rev. David Jones, pastor. Pauline will lie in state 30 minutes before the service and the burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Memorials: May be made to Wyatt's Grove Baptist Church.
