Barry Donald "Don" Lackey
Barry Donald "Don" Lackey, 70, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his home in Salisbury.
He was born December 17, 1947 in Salisbury, NC to the late Stephen "Pete" and Mary Foust Lackey. Don attended attended North Rowan High School and graduated from Rowan Cabarrus Community College with a Machinist degree. He worked as a Master Machinist for North Carolina Finishing for over 30 years. Don was a past member of the Spencer Moose Lodge. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and going to auctions.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Lowery Lackey, and brother, Wayne Lackey.
Don is survived by his daughter, Crystal Catoe and husband Thomas of Salisbury; and grandson, Gavin Ellis.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, December 23, 2017, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.
The memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 23, 2017, in the Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel, Rockwell, NC, with Rev. David Jones, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Don may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, Newton NC.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to nurses Robin and Kimberly from Catawba Regional Hospice and nurse Angie from Advanced Home Care and Dr. Cecil Farrington, his family doctor and personal friend.
