Louise Thompson Almond
GREENSBORO - Louise Thompson Almond, 82, of Overton Drive, died Monday (Aug. 29, 2005) at her home.
Born Feb. 27, 1923, in Stanly County, Mrs. Almond was a daughter of the late Charlie Thompson and Ruby Thompson.
Upon moving to Greensboro, she worked in the U.S. Marshal 's Service for 23 years. Before retirement, she was employed by the Stanly County Sheriff 's Office.
A member of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church, Mrs. Almond was a devoted member of the Seeker 's Bible Class, the United Methodist Women, the XYZ 's and the Owners.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Craven P. Almond, and a son, Craig Allen Almond.
She is survived by daughter-in-law Ginger Almond of Summerville, S.C.
Service : 11 a.m. today at the Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Chapel, with the Rev. David Howard officiating. Interment will follow at the Zion United Methodist Church cemetery on Stokes Ferry Road in Salisbury.
Memorials : Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church, Parlor Fund, Greensboro, NC; or Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro.
