Helen Swaringen Wagoner

Monday, May 28, 2012 — Helen Louise Swaringen Wagoner, 72 years of age, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.

Mrs. Wagoner was born January 14, 1940 in Anson County to the late Tom Mitch Swaringen and Lizzie Gibson Swaringen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Alexander Wagoner in 1986; her brother, Tom Swaringen Jr. and her sister, Annie Swaringen Biles.

Helen was a retired cafeteria manager at Millingport Elementary School. She enjoyed her retirement with activities such as gardening and reading.

The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Plyler Baptist Church, Albemarle. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the services. Rev. Mark Swaringen will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Following burial the family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of her daughter in Mt. Pleasant, 34846-A Banks Road. Family and friends are welcome to come by the funeral home to view and pay their respects, Saturday or Sunday prior to the service.

Survivors include her daughter, Ginger Wagoner Barker and husband Steve of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Cliff and Bert Swaringen, Bob and Carnell Swaringen, Bill and Donna Swaringen and Leonard and Kathy Swaringen of Norwood; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to: Plyler Baptist Church, or Hospice of Stanly County.
