Evola "Oley" Barger

ROCKWELL - Mrs. Evola "Oley" Wyatt Boles Barger, 89, of Rockwell, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.

Oley was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Lenny Boles and Nora Wyatt Boles Frick.

A graduate of Rockwell High School, Oley was a longstanding member of Organ Lutheran Church and member of O-Wings (Organ Women in God's Service.) She was very active with Meals on Wheels as a program coordinator.

Oley worked for Carolina Maid, General Electric and as a private in-home care provider. Her greatest role was that of loving mother, wife and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Edward "Edd" Barger; a son, David Barger; and a daughter, Rita Barger.

Family members left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Jill Barger-Earnhardt and husband Bill of Rockwell; a son, Donnie Barger and wife Kristin of Salisbury; and a stepbrother, Larry Frick of Rockwell.

Visitations: 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at the home of Mrs. Evola "Oley" Barger; and 1-2 p.m. Friday, June 14 at the Organ Lutheran Church Parlor.

Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Organ Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Carlin Ours, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials: Organ Lutheran Church, or Humane Society of Rowan County.
