CONCORD Mrs. Faye McGraw Layton, 74, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House. A funeral service will be held 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Brian Duncan. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m., prior to the service.
Faye was born July 23, 1942, in Cabarrus Co., to the late Clarence P. McGraw and Ruby Elizabeth Barrier McGraw. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Archibal Layton; one sister; and three brothers.
Faye enjoyed cooking big meals for her family on special occasions. She also loved spending time with her family, whom she dearly loved.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Tallent and Amanda Waynick; sons, Donald Layton, Rodney Layton, and Terry Layton; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Wilkinson Funeral Home is handling arrangements for the Layton family.
