Ernest Lee “Satch” Eudy, age 80, of Albemarle, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at his home.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Monday, May 21, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 11:00 AM, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home.
Mr. Eudy was born in Stanly County on November 30, 1931, to the late Millard Levi Eudy and the late Gathie Marina Almond Eudy. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Whitley; four brothers, James D. Eudy, John Ervin Eudy, Cletus Eudy and Charlie Eudy; and one sister, Carrie McIllwain.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Catherine Elizabeth Hatley Eudy, of the home; one son, Tony Eudy and his wife Melanie of TN; three daughters, Collan Vanhoy and husband Jonah of Albemarle, Crystal McNeil and husband Sam of Matthews and Amy Story and husband Darrell of Albemarle; son-in-law, Terrell Whitley of Albemarle; two brothers, Ralph Eudy and Floyd Eudy, both of Albemarle; three sisters, Ramelle Martin of Albemarle, Doris Eudy of Albemarle and Oaksie Cole of Greensboro and 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
