Craven McDaniel "Crack" Eudy

MOUNT PLEASANT - Mr. Craven McDaniel "Crack" Eudy, 85, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at CMC-NorthEast.

He was born on Dec. 7, 1925, in Stanly County to the late Eli Brantley and Ivy Elizabeth Barbee Eudy. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Enda Foster Eudy; brothers, Luke Eudy, formerly of Concord, Krone Eudy, formerly of Locust, JB Eudy, formerly of Stanfield, Boyd Eudy, formerly of Kannapolis, and Leroy Eudy, formerly of Locust; sister, Gracie Bell, formerly of Mount Ulla.

Crack was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and a retired foreman from Cannon Mills, Plant 6 in Concord. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at 11a.m. at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 5340 Flowes Store Road, Concord, with Rev. Jimmy Hall officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors performed at the graveside. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie Irene Riley Eudy, of the home; son, Bobby Lee Eudy, of Concord; daughter, Penny Sue Dowse, of China Grove; brothers, R.V. "Short" Eudy, of Locust, David Eudy, of Midland, and Clayton Eudy, of Locust; sisters, Blanche Cagle, of Concord, Dora Tucker, of Locust, and Annie Kindly, of Norwood; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Eudy family.
