Sarah Melinda Whitley McDaniel
Sarah Melinda Whitley McDaniel, 87, of 1930 Woodhaven Drive, Albemarle, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Woodhaven Court.
Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The Rev. Garry Baker will officiate and burial will be in Red Cross Baptist Church Cemetery, Oakboro.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. At other times the family will meet at the home of son, Ed McDaniel, 132 Eastway Drive, Oakboro.
Born May 4, 1921, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Greene and Litha Anceline (McClure) Whitley and was a handler for Allison Manufacturing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Waller Melvin McDaniel, and a son, Michael McDaniel.
She is survived by a son, Ed McDaniel, and wife, Karen, of Oakboro and two grandsons, Joseph McDaniel and wife, Jennifer, of Stanfield, and Michael Jacob McDaniel of Georgia.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County.
