Rufus James "R.J." Lambert
Rufus James "R.J." Lambert, 85, of Concord, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Avante At Concord. He was born on Jan. 18, 1924 in Cabarrus County to the late John and Rosetta (Hinson) Lambert.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Sarah Christine (Smith) Lambert in 1987; sister, Katie Furr; and brothers, Lonnie Lambert, Stance Lambert, Horace Lambert and Archie Lambert.
He was a retired loom fixer with Cannon Mills.
A visitation was held Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Hartsell Funeral Home-Concord from 1-2 p.m. with the service at 2 p.m. Rev. Dale Jenkins officiated. Burial followed at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
Survivors are daughter, Melinda (Lambert) Morgan of Kannapolis; son, James Ray Lambert of Salisbury; brother, Carl Lambert and wife Johnnie of Locust; sisters, Mary Brault and husband Fred of Charlotte; Patsy Honeycutt and husband Gene of Locust; Betty Morgan and husband Ray of Oakboro; Annie Lou Fisher and husband Bob of Mt. Pleasant; and Bertie Lee Ritchie of Albemarle; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to: Avante At Concord, 515 Lake Concord Road Concord, NC.
Hartsell Funeral Home-Concord will be serving the Lambert family.
