ALBEMARLE — Lonnie Arthur Lambert, 81, 23320 Endy Road, died Sunday (Feb. 6, 2000) at Stanly Manor.
Born March 2, 1918, in Stanly County, Mr. Lambert was a son of the late John Filmore and Sarah Rosetta Hinson Lambert. He retired from a sales job with Southwestern Materials. A member of Red Cross Baptist Church, he had been stationed in Europe while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by wives Mary Waisner Lambert and Odelia Allman Lambert.
Survivors include stepson Hal Allman, Concord; daughter Kay Lambert Dennis, Albemarle; stepdaughter Phyllis Allman Vestal, Columbia, S.C.; sisters Mary Brault, Charlotte, Annie Lou Fisher, Mount Pleasant, Patsy Lambert Honeycutt, Locust, Betty Lambert Morgan, Oakboro, and Bertie Lee Ritchie, Stanfield; brothers Carl Lambert, Stanfield, R.J. Lambert, Concord, and Stancil Lambert, Stanfield; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 7:30 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Gary Baker. Burial, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation: 5:30-7:30 today at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of daughter Kay Dennis, Sapona Trace, Norwood.
Memorials: Red Cross Baptist Church, Oakboro; or American Heart Association, Stanly County Unit.
