Ned Alvin Eller

SALISBURY - Mr. Ned Alvin Eller, 80, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 20, 1931 in Rowan County to the late Lee and Jennie Loudara Lemly Eller. Mr. Eller attended Rowan County Schools, was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was formerly employed by Taylor Manufacturing, and retired from Western Atlas after 37 years.

He was a life member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, a former Church Council Member, Sunday School Treasurer, and a member of John's Sunday School Class. Mr. Eller loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, rabbit hunting, fishing, farming, and raising cows.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Eller is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Eller and three sisters, Pearl Leach, Inez Shepherd, and Louise Basinger.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Brown Eller, whom he married June 1, 1959; son, Rodney N. Eller and wife April of Landis; daughter, Jill E. Fender and husband John of Salisbury; brother, Floyd N. Eller and wife Frances; sister, Mary E. Agner and husband Hubert; grandsons, Drew and Lukas Eller and granddaughters, Kayla Parsons and husband Sandy, Kelsey Bledsoe, and Abigail Gaddis.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 1, 2012, from 2-4 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Family Life Center.

Service: The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m., on Sunday, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Gary Coble, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by Rowan County Military Honor Guard and the NC National Guard.

Memorials: May be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church-Family Life Center.
