Rev. Wade “Tom” Lomax

Rev. Wade “Tom” Lomax, 82, of Richfield passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Stanly Regional Medical Center.  His funeral service will be 3 PM Friday at the Old Country Baptist Church in Salisbury with Rev. Joe Black, Rev. Rick Hildebrand, and Rev. George Riley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lomax Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 until 3 PM prior to the funeral service at the Old Country Baptist Church, 627 Faith Road, Salisbury, NC.

Born December 6, 1932 in Stanly County, Rev. Lomax was the son of the late George Henry Lomax and Pearlie Ethel Rogers Lomax.  He was the Pastor of Old Country Baptist Church and he also worked as a machinist.  Rev. Lomax was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Jean Coughenour Lomax in 2007.

He is survived by his second wife Jeanette Jones Lomax of the home, 3 sons Wade Lomax, Jr. and wife Daphne of Richfield, Wayne Lomax and wife Rita of Richfield, and Worth Lomax of Richfield, daughter Carolyn Goodman of Gold Hill and fiancĂ© John Kendall, stepson Gary Long and wife Pam of Albemarle, stepdaughter Teresa Harrell and husband Pat of Wilmington, 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  A brother and 4 sisters preceded him in death.
