ROCKWELL - "Frances" Josephine Holshouser Corl, 77, of Rockwell, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Born Dec. 10, 1929, in Rowan County, Mrs. Corl was the daughter of the late Charles William Holshouser and Crump Danner Holshouser. A graduate of Granite Quarry High School, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockwell, Sunday School teacher for the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class and past treasurer of the church. Ms. Corl had worked for and retired from National Starch & Chemical Company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jay Dwight Corl, on July 23, 1984.

Survivors include son Brandt A. Corl of Rockwell; grandchildren Tonya Corl, Brandi Atwell and husband Thomas; great-grandchildren Jasmine Corl and Cora Atwell; and sisters Betty Shuping of Rockwell and Lucille Sherrill of Salisbury.

Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Rockwell conducted by Dr. Benny L. Vickrey Sr., pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell, and the remainder of the time at the home of the son, Brandt A. Corl of Rockwell.
