Clyde “Hoey” Corl
ROCKWELL - Mr. Clyde William "Hoey" Corl, 86, being of the Baptist faith, has gone to be with the Lord on March 26, 2012.
A lifelong resident of Rockwell, he was born Nov. 26, 1925, to the late Roy David Corl and Mae Miller Corl Hattoway. Hoey attended Rowan County schools, retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Plant No. 7 and was a retired member of Rockwell Rural Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by brothers B.W. Corl, H.C. Corl, Bo Corl; and sister Nell Corl Waggoner.
Hoey is survived by his wife of 67 years, Claudine Hartsell "Deaner" Corl; sister Frances Mahanes of Lexington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to great-nephew Whit Whitley and friend Patsy Hatley for their love and support.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 28 at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Rockwell, conducted by Dr. Benny Vickrey and Rev. Matthew Laughter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
