Edna Jewell Whitley Quick
Edna Jewell Whitley Quick, age 85, of 231 E. Red Cross Road, passed away on September 8, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle.
The family will receive friends at Red Cross Baptist Church on Sunday from 3-4 p.m. Although the family will not be present, family and friends are welcome to come by the funeral home to view and pay their respects after noon on Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Red Cross Baptist Church where she was a member. Rev. Garry Baker will officiate and burial will be in Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Stanly County on February 22, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Walter Hervey Whitley and the late Emily Frances Furr Whitley.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raeford Fletcher Quick in 2000; brothers, Claude C. Whitley, Howard R. Whitley and Grady I. Whitley; sisters, Edith C. Whitley, Ola Mae Snotherly and Ora Lee Whitley.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Austin and husband Gary of Red Cross, N.C.; son, Raeford C. "Ray" Quick of Red Cross, N.C.; grandchildren, Jarod Austin and wife Rene and Haven Austin; brother, Garrett G. Whitley of High Point, N.C. and sister, Irene Almond of Albemarle, N.C.
She was a retired salesperson for Stanly Knitting in Oakboro, N.C.
