CONCORD - Jessie Virginia Lambert, 78, of 6108 Village Drive, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, and also after the service. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Eddie Fowler officiating. There will be a 30-minute state prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Locust.
Ms. Lambert was born Dec. 25, 1929, the daughter of the late Adam Alvah Lambert and the late Nealie Lophelia ( Burris) Lambert. She attended Wingate Junior College, and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Appalachian State University. She was a K-1 teacher for 39 years at Ridgecrest Elementary, where she taught some families for three generations. She was loved by everyone in her church and community. She attended Cabarrus County Lunch Plus Club at Logan Senior Center daily. She loved her cats and giving hugs to everyone. She was a member of Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Annette Nicholson and husband, Alec, of Concord; nephews, Tab Bonny and wife, Kelly, and daughters, Bethany, Mackenzie and Cassidy of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Zane Bonny and daughter, Jeana, of Charlotte; and niece, Medea Bonny of Ithica, N.Y.
