Notes for Dale Cauble Boger
Dale Cauble Boger

Dale Cauble Boger, 85, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was born Feb. 11,1933, in Rowan County to the late John Jeremiah Boger and Lyda Cauble Boger. He was a 1951 graduate of Rockwell High School. He was drafted in 1953 into the United States Army and honorably discharged in 1955. While “dragging town” with friends he met his sweetheart, Betty Jean Wise. The two were later married on March 16, 1957 and were married 60 years.

Dale was a life-long truck driver having worked for White Packing Company, Food Lion LLC, and Hammill's Construction Company, retiring at the age of 81.

Dale was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. He was a trustee, a member of Adult Men's Class and The United Methodist Men's Club. He was a volunteer at Rowan Helping Ministries and a prior Member of Hammers for Christ. Dale received the United Methodist Women's Service Pen. He was active in all phases of church ministries for as long as his health permitted.

Those who rejoiced upon his arrival in heaven were: his parents; his loving wife, Betty; his best friend, Ralph Shepherd; great-grandchild, baby Shay; brother, John Boger Jr.; sisters, Sara Sherrill and Mae Weddington; and his in-laws, Junior and Nett “Mom” Pickler.

Those who cherish his memory are daughters, Bonnie B. Rollins (Russ) and Jill B. Earnhardt (Perry); grandchildren, Scott and Jenna Shay, Ben Rollins, Mark Rollins and Ivy Earnhardt; great-grandson, Silas Shay “Little Boy”; sister-in-law, Ann Wallace; brother, Jim Boger (Beth); sister, Marie Morgan; nieces and nephews, Lori Campos (Mike Dean) and Will, Mark Wallace (Ashley Overcash), Alice Kluttz (Bob), Jo Fowler (Lanny), Nelda Rinehart (Floyd), Nathan Morgan, Jim Morgan Jr., Carl Boger, Starr Hughes and Woody Weddington (Helen). It is with sincere gratitude that we give thanks to Dad's caregivers, Mary Lee Ketchie, Joyce Morris, and Susan Eddleman.
