Myrleen Merritt Page, 98 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at her home in Albemarle.
Myrleen was born October 18, 1918 in Richmond County, GA, to the late Jessie Littleton Merritt and the late Sally Esther Merritt.
She was also preceded in death by first husband, Ernest Franklin Cates; second husband, Richard Craven Page; daughter, Alyce Yzette Cates; brother, Mavuel Merritt; sister, Evelyn Hinson; brother, Billy Merritt; and brother, Paul Merritt.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, November 28, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Albemarle and will be officiated by Rev. Dave Cook. Burial will follow at the Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Alco Cates of Cleveland, and Richard Franklin Cates of Albemarle; daughter, Brenda Cates Allen of the home; brother, Jimmy Alco Merritt of Cincinnati, OH; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County.
